- Location San Diego, California
- Size 25,000 SF
- Services Architecture
- Project Type Redevelop / Adaptive Reuse
BNIM is currently leading the design for the County of San Diego rehabilitation of the Mira Mesa Epicentre. The adaptive reuse project consists of an 8,000 SF youth community facility with 12,000 SF of open space that will serve the Mira Mesa community. Most recently, BNIM and Introba have supported the County of San Diego on a six-month community outreach initiative for the project. The Epicentre project holds cultural significance for the community, as it will provide a replacement for the former teen music venue and preserve an important cultural tradition in the area. The project builds upon project objectives developed by the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation and the Mira Mesa community for this facility, including re-establishing youth focused programing and activities; providing opportunities for people of all ages; and serving as a hub for the San Diego/Safe Destinations Nights program.
