Zhou B Art Center Breaks Ground in Kansas City’s historic 18th and Vine Jazz District

Zhou B Art Center Breaks Ground in Kansas City’s historic 18th and Vine Jazz District

The official groundbreaking ceremony for the Zhou B Art Center took place on October 4 at the former Crispus Attucks Elementary School. The project involves the expansion and renovation of this landmark building located in Kansas City’s historic 18th and Vine Jazz District.

The new Zhou B Art Center, a sister space to the Chicago location, will be a new hub for visual and performing arts connecting the historic Jazz District with the Crossroads Art District in a mission to revitalize the area through art and commerce. The 54,300 SF building will house expansive art galleries, a restored auditorium, and over forty studios for working artists.
