A Tribute to Kansas City Legend, Don Hall Sr.

A Tribute to Kansas City Legend, Don Hall Sr.

Don Hall Sr. was an important civic leader and philanthropist who left his mark on Kansas City in countless ways. In particular, his shared vision—along with Henry Bloch, Estelle and Morton Sosland, Shirley Helzberg, and others—transformed the Nelson-Atkins Museum into a place welcoming for all. The governance changes, free admission, architecture, art collection, public-facing programming, and sculpture gardens together represent a completely different place, community role, and organization than the original charter defined. The museum stands as a testament to his leadership and impact across Kansas City.

We at BNIM will remember him as an authentic, generous, curious, and thoughtful friend. He will be missed.
