The Architect’s Newspaper Features BNIM’s Fine Arts and Design Studios Project

“BNIM’s glass-shrouded Fine Arts + Design Studios settles into the Great Plains” by Matthew Marani of Architect’s Newspaper highlights our collaboration with Johnson County Community College on their new Fine Arts and Design Studio. Project architect, John Collier, highlights how the glass panels came together to create a beautiful, welcoming facility for students and faculty.

“We developed the idea of the glass scrim being used not only as a facade design element, but also as a potential art piece that would offer the ability to project images from the building interior onto the glass scrim. From this idea, we cobbled together several samples we had in the office to see what would capture and hold the image of a projection on the glass surface as well as provide the best appearance when viewed during the day.”
