Missouri State University’s College of Natural and Applied Sciences Breaks Ground

Missouri State University’s College of Natural and Applied Sciences Breaks Ground

Missouri State University’s College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS) breaks ground on their Temple Hall Addition and Renovation project on Friday, December 16th in Springfield, Missouri.

The building project will bring together the three departments of Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Geography, Geology & Planning (GGP) all under one roof. The addition will include state-of-the-art, flexible teaching and research laboratories for each of the three departments. It will also provide new student and gathering spaces to serve the College. The completed Addition will serve as a welcoming place for current and prospective students while showcasing the research and programs within, to meet one of the College’s primary goals for the project; other goals include enabling research and providing for the future of CNAS.

BNIM looks to improve building design through the lenses of Energy, Resources, Water, Ecology, Wellness, and Equity on all our projects, looking to customize these sustainability goals for each project. Human-purposed design strategies include increased access to natural light, target reductions in embodied and operational carbon for this building type, and common spaces that reflect the health and wellness needs of students at the College. We are honored to be part of this transformational project at Missouri State University.
