Marquette University’s Dr. E.J. and Margaret O’Brien Hall Officially Opens its Doors

To kick off the new year and start of the spring semester, the Dr. E.J. and Margaret O’Brien Hall opened its doors to students and faculty in mid-January. This building is the new home for the College of Business Administration, Graduate School of Management, and innovation leadership programs at Marquette University. This $60 million, 109,000 square-foot facility is the largest fully donor-funded construction project in university history. BNIM in collaboration with Workshop Architects designed the building to be flexible for the future with state-of-the-art, globally connective technology, anchoring the west gateway to campus.

Milwaukee’s local news station TMJ4 News showcased the new building and spoke to undergraduate students, faculty, and acting Dean, Tim Hanley, on the first day of classes.

“Since good business — business with purpose — isn’t done in a silo, O’Brien Hall emphasizes innovative, collaborative spaces where our students are immersed in experiential learning and creative solutions every day. Here, future accountants will team with aspiring marketers, and next-generation bankers will map balance sheets with up-and-coming developers. This truly is a game-changing facility for Marquette Business and the university.”
