“The Public Realm in the 21st Century” is the first of a 2020 web series hosted by the KC Global Design Innovation Working Group to address actionable steps to support and enhance the current public realm in terms of safety, security, health, economy, and equity.

Maria Maffry, BNIM Principal & Chief Business Development Officer and co-chair of the KCGD Awareness Group, and Dominique Davison, Managing Principal/Founder at DRAW architecture + urban design, will moderate the discussion, featuring the following topics:

  • Addressing the changing requirements of the public realm in an era of climate change, pandemic, economic downturn, and social unrest
  • Introducing current models and case studies
  • Highlighting key opportunities to reinvent and enhance the public realm
