Habitat for Humanity KC Renovation Recognized as a Top Adaptive Reuse Project in Kansas City

The Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City Renovation project has been selected to receive a KCBJ Capstone Award at the 2023 Capstone Awards program on Thursday, April 13th. The project was recognized by the jury as one of the top real estate and developmental projects in the Kansas City area. This year’s panel of judges honored a total of 26 projects, and the Habitat for Humanity of KC project was among them in the Adaptive Reuse category.

This transformational renovation project involved repurposing an existing two-story Original Greek Orthodox Church at the intersection of Linwood and Paseo Boulevard in Kansas City, MO. By working within the existing structure, the renewed Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City office honors the building’s original design concept and preserves its historic plaster work and dome. These significant features now serve as focal points of the new community room. The project supports and enhances Habitat KC’s mission of helping families in the Kansas City community build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Congratulations to all of the 2023 Honorees!
