Golden Plains Technology Park featured in Kansas City Business Journal

BNIM is serving as architect for an innovative data center campus development plan with Diode Ventures LLC. The proposed development, Golden Plains Technology Park, was recently featured in the Kansas City Business Journal.

Excerpt from Kansas City Business Journal, “Multibillion-dollar KC data center would be one of world’s largest,” by Thomas Friestad:

“Diode Ventures LLC, a subsidiary of Overland Park-based Black & Veatch, is scheduled Tuesday to present its proposal for Golden Plains Technology Park to the City Plan Commission. The plan entails as many as 13 data center buildings on 882.5 vacant acres spanning Platte and Clay counties.

The developer seeks approval for its development plan and rezoning at the northwest corner of Interstate 435 and U.S. Highway 169 to a master planned development district, allowing as much as 6,750,000 square feet of construction.

If approved, Golden Plains Technology Park could be built in three phases — the first two phases with five buildings and the third with three buildings — through 2036, a construction timeline shows.

Golden Plains Technology Park is positioned to “support the growing demand of data, cloud and other hosting services” while “(boosting) the economy with increased business from Fortune 100 companies,” according to Diode’s submission.”
