BNIM receives Merit Award for Springfield Art Museum and presents at AIA Springfield Awards
BNIM is honored to receive a 2024 AIA Springfield Merit Award for the Springfield Art Museum. The Springfield Art Museum Renovation and Expansion is currently underway and will enhance the Museum’s future with nature-connected, community-focused design and a 100-year vision. Design strategies prioritize engaging art education experiences and address many existing facility needs that have accumulated over time. A central focus is creating connections to nature and establishing an extroverted museum presence within the community, ensuring the Springfield Art Museum remains a beautiful and connective destination for the arts and cultural heritage in the Springfield region.
In addition to the design awards celebration on September 13, AIA Springfield hosted a walking tour of Missouri State University (MSU) campus. The tour included a presentation by Josh Harrold, BNIM principal, on the design of the ongoing Blunt Hall Addition and Renovation project, the home for the College of Natural and Applied Sciences at MSU. Phase 1 of the project is set to be completed in 2025, and phase 2 will be complete in 2026.
