BNIM honored with six awards at 2021 AIA Kansas City Design Excellence Awards
BNIM was honored to receive six award recognitions at the 2021 AIA Kansas City Design Excellence Awards that took place on November 10.
The Jeanne and Rex Sinquefield Music Center
unites the School of Music within one welcoming, state-of-the-art facility that renews the program’s culture and identity on the University of Missouri – Columbia campus. The project was recognized with a 2021 AIA Kansas City Design Excellence Citation.
The Johnson County Community College Career and Technical Education Center
operates as a high-performance environment and serves as a unique living, teaching, and learning laboratory on a community college campus. The project was recognized with a 2021 AIA Kansas City Design Excellence Honor Award.
The West Bottoms Flats
are a market-rate housing project in Kansas City, Missouri, that have transformed four historic warehouse and manufacturing buildings into apartments, micro-retail, and indoor/outdoor amenity space. The project was recognized with a 2021 AIA Kansas City Design Excellence Honor Award.
The MidAmerican Energy Corporate Office and Conference Center Renovation
creates an intervention of light and volume that reconnects a workplace in wellness and productivity. The project was recognized with a 2021 AIA Kansas City Design Excellence Citation.
The Kirk Family YMCA
was an adaptive reuse of Kansas City’s downtown historic Lyric Theatre. This transformation establishes a renewed YMCA presence in the urban core and creates a welcoming and inclusive community resource with the Kirk Family YMCA. The project was recognized with a 2021 AIA Kansas City Design Excellence Merit Award.
The Winnetonka High School New Entry and Addition
creates a modern, welcoming space that supports connection and school pride among the student community. The project was recognized with a 2021 AIA Kansas City Design Excellence Honor Award.
