AIA Iowa and AIA Kansas Excellence in Design Awards recognize LifeServe Blood Center Headquarters, BOK Financial, and Springfield Art Museum
BNIM was honored to receive recognition at the AIA Iowa and AIA Kansas Excellence in Design Awards this year. LifeServe Blood Center Headquarters received an Honorable Mention Award from AIA Iowa. BOK Financial and Springfield Art Museum Renovation and Expansion were both recognized with Merit Awards from AIA Kansas.
LifeServe Blood Center Headquarters is a collaborative and flexible new headquarters building and donor center in Johnston, IA, which supports LifeServe Blood Center’s life-saving work, serving more than 170 hospitals across the Midwest region. The design team worked closely with LifeServe to study and understand design options that enhance organizational function and ensure efficient workflows and adjacencies while providing a welcoming workplace and community presence.
BOK Financial is a new full-service banking and office space located at 17th and Grand Boulevard in the Crossroads District of Kansas City, MO. The design aims to support street-level activation and indoor-outdoor connection, inviting nature into the building through an emphasis on views, generous daylight, and native landscaping. The project is the first to implement Grand Boulevard’s streetscape master plan.
Springfield Art Museum Renovation and Expansion is a transformational project that will support the Museum’s 100-year vision for the future. The design prioritizes engaging art education experiences, addresses many existing facility needs that have accumulated over time, and focuses on creating connections to nature and establishing an extroverted museum presence within the community of Springfield.
